Dolores is located in the Comarca de la Vega Baja in Alicante. A town of approx. 11,000 originally founded in 1715

It is a beautiful country town, in the heart of the Spanish huerta (vegetable garden) easily accessible though the Alicante to Cartagena motorway (a 10 minute drive away).

In Spain fiestas are common in all towns - and Dolores is no exception. The Feria de Agosto (August Fair) is one of the most important of its kind in all of Spain a favourite and "must see" for horse lovers, as it features a Spanish Horse Contest - with more than 1,500 horses shown

Bovine cattle and dog contests are also held at the fair. Dolores is also a firm favourite for those avid fishermen as there is a great variety of small game and fish at El Hondo Natural park
